When is the best time to book your Newborn Photography Session
First of all congratulations on expecting a baby. As you embark on this incredible journey into parenthood, its completely normal that you're bubbling with excitement as well as a whirlwind of emotions and, eagerly planning for your little one's arrival.
Amidst the joy and anticipation, you might be wondering about the best time to schedule your newborn photography session. Even if you haven't pinpointed your exact due date, I’m here to guide you through it all.
First let me explain the best time for a newborn Photo shoot
Its best to organise your baby’s newborn session within the first 5-14 days of them being earth side. There are two main reasons for this.
During the initial days of life earth side, newborn’s spend a significant amount of time sleeping, which allows for capturing them in their most peaceful and relaxed states. These sleepy moments reveal genuine facial expressions, innocent smiles, and adorable yawns, showcasing the natural beauty and wonder of these tiny little souls.
It’s also offers a unique opportunity for parents to pause and revel in the beauty of their baby, embracing the miracle they have brought into the world. By taking photos within the first 12-14 days, parents can cherish this fleeting innocence and remember the time when their little one was entirely dependent on their care and love.
After the two week mark newborn’s grow and become more alert and tend to be more difficult to keep settled during a photography session, and hence lose the opportunity to create those sleepy, blissful moments.
Secondly the first two weeks is the best time to create beautiful squishy curled positions like the serene environment they experienced in the womb.
These two points above keep your baby settled and comfortable during their session and create ease when placing them in posed positions and create a sense of tranquillity, reflecting the peaceful transition from the womb to the outside world.

You can book your newborn session with me as early as any time around the 2nd trimester of pregnancy, that 12 week mark. When you book we won’t actually set a date for your session unless you have booked in a planned c-section. Instead I will pencil in a tentative booking and note it down in my calendar.
Then, I will look forward to you getting in contact with me once your little one graces us with their presence, earth side the magic happens. Simply get in touch, and together, we'll solidify a date within that perfect 5 to 14-day window.
My Calendar and schedule is extremely flexible when it comes to my newborn sessions as babies arrive earth side when they are ready and on their time schedule, when it best suits their journey. However in my calendar, I only allow for one newborn session a day, and schedule in no more than 3 Newborn session per week.

Last minute bookings, while booking your newborn photography session well in advance is recommended, if you have missed the ideal time frame, you haven’t missed out. We understand that the magic of those initial days is irreplaceable, and we're here to assure you that you haven't missed out on capturing these fleeting moments.
Please get in touch to check my last minute availability. I may be able to squeeze you in and accommodation a newborn session so you don’t miss out. Unexpected opportunities in my schedule can change if some little ones arrive early or haven’t arrived as planned.

1) To book your newborn photography session please Fill in the Form below letting me know you would like to book and a your baby’s due date.
2) Once you have submitted the form I will get back to you within 24 hours and confirm my availability.
3) Once I have checked my calendar I will reply and send you through my booking contract and invoice for a deposit to be paid to secure a booking for you. This deposit secures your spot, allowing you to cherish these early memories forever.
When your session is booked, I will send you information on what to expect and how to prepare best for your session. I look forward to seeing you and your baby in the studio.
